Contraindications for a microdermabrasion/ultrasound treatment:

• Pregnancy/breastfeeding

• fresh scars (in the process of healing)
• active herpes
• sun burns
• active acne
• active rosacea
• skin cancer
• insatiable diabetes
• autoimmune disruptions
• fresh hyaluronic filler (2 weeks- one month) or botox/lifting (two-three months)
• heart diseases (for ultrasound)

• You may notice skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in your skin.
• Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is a must.
• After microneedling, your skin works fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue. In theory, you should see results within a couple of weeks.

To maintain the results of your treatment, you’ll need multiple sessions, and perhaps other complementing treatments. Our cosmetician, at CHIC, will advise you on the best plan of action based on your individual goals.

One week before a chemical peel, you must: 

• not use any type of retinol or retin-A topical medication
• not shave or wax the area that will be treated
• not use enzyme based face masks or other types of exfoliation
• not use hair dye

You cannot have a chemical peel if you: 

• have been on Accutane in the last six months
• are pregnant or breastfeeding
• are under a chemotherapy treatment
• have keloid scars
• have a active infection with Herpes simplex

For lightweight peels there’ll be little to no side effects. A little bit of redness post-peel will occur, but should subside in an hour or two.
Skin peeling may occur within two to three days. However, this is pretty uncommon with light superficial peels. But if you don’t peel, doesn’t mean it isn’t working. Don’t underestimate the strength of a chemical peel, even if you feel it didn’t do much.
As for the higher strength products, there’ll most definitely be skin peeling and redness.

The presence of hydrogen peroxide (commonly “hydrogen peroxide”) modulates the action of TCA, which prevents desquamation. Despite a higher TCA than traditional peels (around 15-20%), the biorevitalization peel induces almost no side effects.

Advantages of Peel PRX – T33

Its effectiveness in revitalizing and correcting skin imperfections is superior to superficial peels while avoiding desquamation (loss of the superficial layer of the epidermis).
Thanks to the action of hydrogen peroxide, the biorevitalization peel does not involve social crowding in the days following treatment.

Compared to traditional peels, the biorevitalization peel reduces the risk of pigmentary rebounds (appearance of brown spots on the treated area). It can be used safely on dark, Asian or mixed skin.

A biorevitalization peel is ideal before the summer as it does not involve social exclusion or additional precautions related to the sun.

Like the mesotherapy and carboxytherapy techniques, the biorevitalization peel has a lifting effect and gives the skin back its suppleness and elasticity. Unlike these techniques, it does not induce needles during treatment and therefore no risk of marks on the skin.

• A biorevitalization peel is not indicated for patients whose skin is irritated, prone to seborrheic dermatitis or rash (herpes).
• In case of irritated skin, a redness will appear quickly and an intense burn will be felt from the first minutes of the treatment, which will then have to be stopped immediately.
• It is also not recommended for patients allergic to Kojic acid (risk of itching) and latex.
• Skins with a thick horny layer can not be treated because of the risk of exfoliation too intense.
• Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

To obtain an optimal result, several peel sessions are often necessary.

The number of sessions varies according the initial state of the skin, the main aggravating factors being age, sun exposure and smoking.

For a rejuvenation of the facial skin, 1 to 5 sessions are recommended, with 7 days between the sessions.
